Research Methodology

What Is Ethnographic Research?

Savvy businesses are using ethnographic research, in key markets, to better understand their customers’ user experiences. It is helping them shape product development, understand the sales process, measure how users respond to marketing campaigns and determine how to make them more relevant and effective.

By following a small group over a period of time, this “use case” research allows companies to draw larger conclusions and identify emerging trends that shape the development of future products and services—giving you a competitive advantage.

Getting Started: A Five-Step Process

Listen2Youth works with you to define study objectives and marketing opportunities. If you choose to create a private panel, please allow 4 to 6 weeks for recruiting the members. Once the panel is in place (ours or yours), the process for each study is about 8-10 weeks.

  1. Select a topic based on business objectives, marketing opportunities and sales priorities
  2. Develop and review the study assignment and questions
  3. Implement the online survey, instructions and reporting tools
  4. Deploy the assignment to panel members—they have 4 weeks to complete
  5. Publish results and recommendations 4-6 weeks after the assignment closes
